Photography & Art Were My First Loves

Capturing Magic Through The Lens and Brush

She continues to work in photography, also using her images as reference points for her fine art paintings. She won a third place photography award in 2020 for her photograph, “Oceanview from Bearskin Neck,” at Bryn Mawr’s Art Ability Show.

And she was recently named a finalist in Fusion Art’s Women’s Competition with her photograph, “Dragon Plant.” Her work, “A Tribute to Mondrian,” a digital art piece was selected to be one of the finalists at Fusion Art’s June 2021 exhibition, “Lines, Shapes, and Objects.” www.fusionartps.com

Most of Amy’s art embodies her passions. In the past few years, she has been working with abstract expressionist art by using unusual materials such as dental floss, chalk-line, and ordinary thread to paint on canvases.

She has been hailed for her stylized depiction of the emotions surrounding cancer treatment in her series of 2015 cancer paintings. Amy has been cancer-free since under-going treatment in Boston. She maintains a plant-based diet for her continued health.

She continues to work with photography and painting abstracts and traditional and non-traditional ballerinas and has shown these over the past few years. She has recently received awards in online competitions for these paintings. She also paints the occasional land and seascape.

Amy has recently retired. She has exhibited throughout New England and the East Coast in Jamaica Plain, Boston, Rockport, Somerville, Chelsea, Cambridge, Soho, NYC, Clifton Springs, NY, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, as well as in online exhibitions.
